Talk about well-rounded, this Spicy Sausage and Broccoli Rabe Pizza is an explosion of textures and flavors—fiery Sicilian Italian sausage, earthy broccoli rabe, zesty tomato sauce, and melty cheese baked to golden brown perfection. The store-bought dough makes it a cinch to prepare too!

1 Package
2
Pizza Dough Balls
2
2 cups
Pizza sauce
2 cups
1/2 cup
Grana Padano cheese, grated
1/2 cup
2 pounds
Fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 pounds
¼ Cup
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
¼ Cup
2 tablespoons
Fresh garlic, minced
2 tablespoons
6 ounces
Broccoli rabe, chopped
6 ounces
½ Cup
White Wine
½ Cup
3 tablespoons
Fresh oregano, minced
3 tablespoons

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450ºF

  2. Cook sausages according to package instructions. While sausages are cooking, heat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat. Add the extra virgin olive oil to the pan, then add the garlic, sautéing until it begins to brown slightly

  3. Add the broccoli rabe and sauté until it turns bright green and deglaze with the white wine

  4. Reduce the wine until it dries, then transfer the broccoli rabe to a plate to cool. Press to move any excess liquid

  5. When the sausages are cooked, allow to rest for about 10 minutes or until cool enough to handle, then cut them on the bias into ½-inch slices

  6. Stretch each dough ball into a 14-inch pizza pan greased with some of the extra virgin olive oil

  7. Spread half of the pizza sauce over each crust. Top each pie with half of the sliced mozzarella, half of the broccoli rabe, and half of the sausage

  8. Bake until golden brown and bubbly, about 10 minutes, turning the pies once during cooking

  9. When the pizzas are done, remove from the oven and allow to rest for 3-4 minutes

  10. Top each pie with half of the Grana Padano cheese and oregano. Slice and serve

Life is Delicious. Savor It.
