- 1 Package Carando Toscano Ground Sausage1 Package
- 1 Pound Lean Ground Beef1 Pound
- 6 Brioche Burger Rolls6
- 1/4 Pound Carando Pepperoni, Sliced1/4 Pound
- 1/2 Pound Crimini Mushrooms1/2 Pound
- 1 Cup Pizza Sauce1 Cup
- 1/2 Pound Provolone Cheese, Sliced1/2 Pound
- 2 Cups Romaine Lettuce, Shredded2 Cups
- 1 Cup Mayonnaise1 Cup
- 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder1 Teaspoon
- 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice2 Tablespoons
- 1 Teaspoon Anchovy Paste1 Teaspoon
- 2 Tablespoons Parmesan Cheese, Grated2 Tablespoons
- 1/16 Teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper1/16 Teaspoon
Instructions
Prepare the grill.
Combine the sausage and ground beef. Divide into 6 even balls and make patties relatively thin.
Heat a sauté pan over medium-high heat and sauté the mushrooms until all of the water has released. Transfer to a bowl and reserve.
Combine the mayonnaise, garlic powder, lemon juice, anchovy paste, parmesan, and crushed red pepper in a bowl and reserve.
When the grill is hot, grill the patties until just cooked through but still juicy.
Heat the slices of pepperoni quickly on the grill.
Lightly toast the rolls on the grill.
To assemble: place a slice of cheese on top of each burger, then some of the mushrooms. Top with a dollop of pizza sauce and two slices of pepperoni. Dress the top and bottom of each roll with some of the mayonnaise. Place the burger on the bottom of the roll and top with shredded lettuce, then the top of the roll.
Serve immediately.
